Grace targets budget consumers with new seasoning product

GraceKennedy has launched a new all-in-one seasoning product aimed at meeting increasing demand for affordable meal solutions.

The new product, Grace One Pot Seasoning, is being billed by the firm as one which "delivers an interesting flavour of herbs, spices and tasty protein chunks, in one sachet".

"In this global environment, Grace Foods has been aggressively seeking affordable and nutritions meal solutions to feed our population. We are proud to say that we have found such a product in our Grace One Pot Seasoning that can provide at least 10 per cent of the daily allowance of protein if one pack is used to prepare a meal for a family of four," said Erwin Burton, CEO of GK Foods Division and Deputy CEO GraceKennedy, in a press release last week.

The product comes in three flavours — All Purpose, Curried Chicken and Cock — and is advertised as an "excellent" complement to a wide range of recipes, including rice, vegetable, pasta, meat and ground-produce based dishes. Each sachet is available at a price of less than $50, said the press release.

According to Angeline Gillings, Grace Foods business development manager of New Products, an important part of her team's focus was understanding the changing needs of local consumers.

"Grace One Pot Seasonings were designed to meet the growing need for more affordable meal solutions. The range not only offers the unique nutritions benefit of added protein in a seasoning pack, but is also versatile, convenient and tasty. The family can now share in quick and easy, nutritious meals, all in One Pot," she said.
