Dec 02, 2009

MANAGING director of NCB Capital Markets, Christopher Williams resigned yesterday after five years in the post.

A source told the Observer that Williams will now participate in a smaller venture within the financial sector.

Williams, over the last decade, earned a reputation as one of the bright young stars in the banking sector who did stints at Manufacturers Merchant Bank and Dehring, Bunting & Golding before landing the coveted position at NCB Capital Markets. There he garnered a reputation as a banker with marketing prowess who positioned NCB Capital Markets as one of the top securities dealers in the country.

Last month NCB announced profits of $10.2 billion for the year ended September 2009, an 18 per cent increase on the prior year. NCB’s wealth management arm, NCB Capital Markets contributed $1.7 billion in net profits, an increase of 121 per cent on last year and contributed $2.5 billion to the Group’s operating profit.
