ANSA McAL Group CEO urges excellence at Sissons

Mar 09, 2009

Chairman and chief executive officer of the ANSA McAL Group, A Norman Sabga says the company’s modus operandi is to reward excellence. He was addressing a flag-raising ceremony at the compound of Sissons Paints Ltd, Uriah Butler Highway, Chaguanas, yesterday. ANSA McAL has now acquired control of Sissons Paints. It was owned previously by the Venezuela-based firm, Coriman. Sabga urged Sissons Paints employees to strive for success.

“You will find ANSA McAL as an organisation where we want you to succeed,” he said. “We want each and every one of you to improve your position, to improve the terms of your ranking in the organisation, to improve your status in the company.” However, Sabga warned that success would not come on its own. “That is not going to happen by itself. We will reward and our modus operandi is to reward performance and I am urging each and every one of you who wishes to succeed to push yourself forward.”

The chairman said the company would provide an environment for employees to advance themselves. “The company is well placed. The product is a prestigious product and we think and know that we would continue to improve what is already there.” Adding that ANSA McAL’s management was impressed with the operations at Sissons, Sabga also urged workers to invest in the company. He encouraged them to take advantage of the company’s employee shareholders’ purchase plan.

“Each and every one of you, I would urge you to look at the organisation as an opportunity to invest in,” said Sabga. “We would be able to give you information on our plan, which is an employee shareholders’ purchase plan and also you, yourself, look at the organisation and consider buying into it.” Sector head in charge of manufacturing, Kelvin Mahabir, also spoke.
