RBTT Merchant Bank Financing Closed In Costa Rica

Sep 29, 2004

RBTT Merchant Bank recently celebrated the closing of its second major transaction in Costa Rica over the past year. The Merchant Bank hosted a special ceremony in Costa Rica to mark the signing of a loan agreement in the form of a US$57,000,000 Senior Secured Note for Hidroenergia del General, S.A., a company founded in the 1990s to build and operate a hydroelectric plant in Costa Rica’s northern zone. The Senior Secured Note, due in 2019, is to be used to construct, operate and maintain a 40-megawatt hydroelectric power plant in Sarapiqui, Costa Rica. Local Costa Rican Banking institutions are being approached to join the syndicate of lenders for the facility, and the Trustees for the transaction are Banco Interfin S.A.

Maintaining a lead and market-making role in the regional capital markets, RBTT Merchant Bank remains the premier merchant banking institution in the region and continues to innovate and expand its product offerings. The company has executed complex transactions in several regional jurisdictions and is known for its distribution of sophisticated offerings across diverse sectors such as utility, manufacturing, hospitality and service sectors, and government and state enterprises.
