BWIA appoints new executive

Jun 01, 2006

NATIONAL AIRLINE BWIA yesterday announced the appointment of Capt Ian Brunton to the post of vice-president (operations) effective June 1.

Brunton has been a pilot with BWIA for the last 29 years, on five aircraft types including the airline’s current A340 Airbus and Boeing 737 fleet.

Brunton is also a former chairman of the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority, former Royal Air Force officer and a practising attorney-at-law.

BWIA CEO Peter Davies said the airline was pleased to welcome Brunton to its management team and he would be given every support in his new position.

On reports that two BWIA executives were allegedly dismissed recently, the airline’s only comment was that some changes were made to its senior management effective May 26.
