BST discontinues share certificates

Barbados Shipping & Trading Company has decided to discontinue the use of share certificates. The certificates will be replaced by a written confirmation of share ownership from the Company's Registrar.

In addition, from March 1, 2006, all present certificates will be considered null and void and all shareholders will be provided with written confirmation of their individual holdings by the Barbados Central Securities Depository.

Statements issues by the BCSD however, will not include shares lodged with the Trinidad & Tobago Central Depository.
