Central Bank going on-line

Feb 22, 2010

The Central Bank of Barbados is making its economic information more accessible to its public effective this year.

The Bank said last week that in an effort to improve the dissemination of economic information, it will be posting on its website – www.centralbank.org.bb – all of its economic publications.

The Bank said that the Annual Report would be the only document available in hard copy. All others, namely the Economic Review, Balance of Payments, Working Papers, and Economic and Financial Statistics would be available on-line. The Bank also revealed that the content of the Economic Review, which is published quarterly, would consist of more economic and financial policy discussions.

The Bank’s management explained that this change should make information available to the public in a more timely and accessible manner.

“This new way of disseminating our information should improve the flow and accessibility to our economic reviews, reports and data by all,” Acting Director of Research, Kevin Greenidge, commented.

The Bank continues to invite your comments, suggestions and questions, as it strives to serve its publics better.
