Massy and Republic Bank issue credit card

Nov 21, 2014

The Massy Group of Companies and Republic Bank Limited have sealed the deal on a new Republic Bank/Massy Credit Card, the first of its kind in T&T. The contract signing ceremony was by president and Group CEO of Massy, E Gervase Warner and Republic Bank’s managing director, David Dulal-Whiteway, took place recently at the Massy Conference Room, Ministry of Health Building, Park Street, Port-of-Spain.

Speaking at the ceremony, Warner said after launching their new brand and identity, Massy officials decided they wanted to revolutionise the way customers interfaced with them.

“We wanted to create new opportunities for the customer to be more than a customer but rather, part of our family. This means that we have to continuously find ways of making our customer interactions meaningful and rewarding so we developed the loyalty card concept even further, to offer a Massy credit card,” he said.

Warner, who applauded the bank’s support on the issuance of the card, said he saw Republic Bank as a trusted partner in the venture, with the right combination of technical competence and a commitment to customer service.

As a Massy credit card holder, a customer will now have the flexibility to pay for goods and services at more than 20 Massy merchants nationwide, earn 50 per cent more points than before and have the opportunity to redeem points for attractive gifts at participating Massy merchants and other partners.

Republic Bank’s executive director, Derwin Howell said, Massy and Republic Bank has always maintained a long standing relationship and Republic is proud to be the bank of choice for the venture.

Present for the event were Anthony Wong, general manager, Electronic Channels & Payments Divisions (Republic Bank Limited); Michelle Palmer-Keizer, general manager, Group Marketing and Communications (Republic Bank Limited); Earl Boodasingh, executive chairman, Integrated Retail Business Unit (Massy); Curtis Tobal, CEO (Massy Finance); Jorrell Best, general manager (Massy- Consumer, Finance); and Nazra Ali, head, Consumer Finance (Massy-Consumer, Finance Trinidad).

A commemorative plaque was presented to Warner by Dulal-Whiteway, symbolising the partnership between the two companies.
