Berger Paints launches environment friendly Royale

Competition in the local paint market has intensified with the introduction of a new ultra premium range by Berger Paints Trinidad Ltd. Royale, which is environment friendly and has a reduced odour, is the latest line of interior paints for the home from the company. General manager Omawatie Birbal said Berger has the ability to provide a coating for almost every surface and with the launch of the Royale brand is improving its range of products.

“Now we are venturing into the ultra premium range and that would be inclusive of this new product Royale and our weather proof ultra,” he said during the launch on Friday at the Queen’s Park Cricket Club Ballroom at the Oval in Port-of-Spain. Weighing in on its uniqueness as a company, Birbal said competition from players in the T&T market is not worrying: “We have obtained ISO certification 9001 and 14001.

That is to say, we can boast of a high quality product to our customers, while maintaining environmental standards. Berger is the only paint company in T&T to be certified by both standards.” Berger, which began manufacturing in the region in 1953, is the largest paint manufacturing company in the English speaking Caribbean—a legacy inherited from Lewis Berger, the German colour chemist who founded the Berger Paints' dynasty in London, in 1760.

The company has manufacturing centres in Barbados, Jamaica and T&T Berger’s on-going commitment is to the development and manufacture of paint products which are technologically correct, environmentally friendly and formulated to withstand harsh tropical conditions.
