TCL to supply cement for Brazil world cup projects

The TCL Group, regional manufacturer and marketer of TCL Premium Plus will continue to supply Brazil with cement for the construction of World Cup related projects, as Brazil prepares to host the world’s premier football event in 2014. TCL, in a news release, said this was confirmed yesterday by TCL’s distributor in Brazil, Fort Industria e Comercio de Cemento e Argamassa Ltda, which through its partner Construtora Etam Ltda, has been supplying TCL cement for two major world cup football projects….Arena Amazonas, the stadium at which all the football games programmed for the state of Amazonas will be played and a 3.5km long bridge over the Black River that connects Manaus with the small city of Iranduba in the Northern part of the country.

Mario Chavez, president of Fort Industria e Comercio de Cemento e Argamassa Ltda said he was confident in the product’s performance and announced that his company would continue to supply the TCL brand for at least ten per cent of the total cement required to complete the stadium project, which is expected to last until 2013. Construction of the bridge would run until the end of 2011 with 15 per cent of the cement coming from TCL. He said, “When one considers the magnitude of these projects, it is extremely important that there is a reliable supply of high quality cement, which can assure the erection of durable structures and as importantly, within the specified timelines.” TCL has been providing the Caribbean region with cement solutions for close to 60 years.
