SFC - Retirement of David Allan

Jul 31, 2008

Mr David Allan retired as a Director of the Sagicor Financial Corporation (SFC) at the end of the fifth Annual Meeting of Shareholders of the Group.

Mr Allan, a former wicket keeper for the West Indies cricket team, has been associated with the Company for over fifty-two years. Speaking on behalf of the Board of Directors and all the ‘members of the Sagicor Family’ Terrence Martins, Chairman of the Board said, “I wish to record our deep gratitude for the outstanding contribution made by Mr Allan since he joined this Group in 1956. He has served in several capacities, including Agent, General Manager and later President and Chief Executive Officer for 22 years until his retirement in 1995. He was first elected a Director of Sagicor Life in 1986 and has served with distinction as a Director since that time. I wish to thank him on behalf of us all for the pivotal role he has played in the development of Sagicor over the last half a
century. We all wish him a long and healthy retirement.”

Mr Allan said that his retirement was both difficult and easy for him. “It is difficult,” he said, “to leave an organisation of which I have been a part for so many years. But it is easy, because when I look around and see the capable men and women of the Board and Management of Sagicor I have absolutely no doubt that they will do what is right and what is best for the company and its Shareholders.”

Mr Allan was presented with a token of Sagicor’s appreciation for his service, dedication and loyalty to the company by Ms Sandra Osborne, Sagicor’s General Counsel and
Secretary.
