Appointment of John Shettle, Jr.

Shareholders at the fifth Annual Meeting of Sagicor Financial Corporation (SFC) unanimously elected John Francis Shettle, Jr, to serve as a Director for a period of three years.

Mr. Shettle who was appointed a Director of the Group’s US subsidiaries, Sagicor USA Inc, Laurel Life Insurance Company and Sagicor Life Insurance Company in 2006, is 53 years of age and is a citizen of the United States.

He received his undergraduate degree from Washington & Lee University and holds an MBA from the Sellinger School of Business at Loyola College, Maryland. He is Senior Advisor of Lightyear Capital, a private equity investment firm providing buyout and growth capital to companies in the financial services industry.

He has over 20 years’ experience in senior management positions in the property/casualty, health and insurance-related services industry. Most recently, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Victor O Schinnerer Company.

Prior to that, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Tred Avon Capital Advisors Inc, a firm providing advisory services to companies and private equity firms focused on the insurance sector.

He previously held senior management positions at Securitas Capital, Swiss Reinsurance Company and Frederick, the Maryland-based AVEMCO Corporation (NYSE).
