TCL rules local trading

THE FORTUNES of market volume and market value were reversed yesterday as trade volume climbed to 398,698 shares and while value dropped to $4.08 million. Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL) claimed top spot with 215,412 shares being traded for $2.31 million.

GraceKennedy Limited (GKC) slipped to second place with 80,000 shares traded for $676,000 while National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (JCBJ) contributed 41,100 shares valued at $84,255. LJ Williams B (LJWB) added 30,078 shares with a value of $54,140.40 while 17,911 shares of Guardian Holdings Limited (GHL) were traded for $546,285.50.

Only four of the active securities experienced price movements, with advances being the order of the day. LJ Williams Limited led with an increase of five cents ending the day at $1.80. Ansa McAl Limited (AMCL), Republic Bank Limited (RBL) and Sagicor Financial Corporation (SFC) each gained a cent to close on $60.55, $102.07 and $20.02 respectively.

With only positive price changes recorded, all three indices recorded gains. The Composite Index rose by .08 points to 1,157,09, the All TT Index added .10 to close on 1,153.72 and the Cross Listed Index inched forward by .01 points to 96.39.
