TCL leads active market

Trading activity was up again on Wednesday, with trade volume climbing by 111 per cent to 3.12 million shares and trade value rising by 32 per cent to $31.30 million.

Once again, the volume leader in terms of value also enjoyed the largest positive price increase of the day. Trinidad Cement Ltd was the day’s major contributor with 2.57 million shares being exchanged for $28.15 million, while simultaneously recording an increase of $0.70 to end the day at $10.95. Capital & Credit Financial Group Ltd and National Commercial Bank Jamaica Ltd added 184,563 shares and 103,211 shares with values of $154,716.22 and $216,839.43 to the day’s overall activity.

National Enterprises Ltd and Ansa Merchant Bank Ltd posted gains of $0.26 and $0.25, ending the day at $11.76 and $33.50 respectively. Angostura Holdings Ltd and Trinidad Publishing Company Ltd moved up by $0.15 each, closing on $6.50 and $21.50. Jamaica Money Market Brokers Ltd and Republic Bank Ltd both closed $0.05 higher, moving up to $1.15 and $101.50 in that order, while Capital & Credit Financial Group Ltd ticked up by $0.04 to $0.85.

Of the two declining securities, Sagicor Financial Corporation led with a decline of $0.35 down to an even $21.00, while Scotia DBG Investments Ltd shed $0.09 to close on $3.00.

There was no trading on the Mutual Fund market. The Second Tier market witnessed trading activity as 70 shares of Mora Ven Holdings Ltd were exchanged for $446.60, its price moved up by 10 per cent to $6.38. No FNCU-Venture Capital Company Ltd shares were not traded and as such its price stood firm at $1.00.

The All T&T Index experienced its third consecutive increase this week, moving up 8.99 points to end the day at 1,511.56, while the Composite Index recovered from its fall on Tuesday with an increase of 4.26 points to 1,152.43. The Cross Listed Index shed a further 0.04 points as it closed on 97.64.
