The tourism ministry is reporting that Jamaica earned US$2.06 billion from the industry January-October 2016.
It says this represents an increase of 5.7 per cent over the amount earned for the corresponding period last year.
The island also registered an increase of 5.1 per cent in visitor arrivals over the same period last year, with more than 3.1 million total visitors.
The ministry says growth in arrivals and earnings came despite Jamaica suffering a loss of more than 8,000 visitors during the passage of Hurricane Matthew.
It says Latin America and Europe were Jamaica’s strongest markets during the period January to October.
